Celebrities Tweet Their Reactions To London Olympics 2012

Celebrities are just like us — they can’t get enough of the London Olympic games, and we’ve gathered the tweets to prove it!

The amazing medal wins by the U.S women’s gymnastics team have caught the attention of many celebs, particularly Gabby Douglas‘ most recent win. Oprah Winfrey tweeted, “OMG I’m so THRILLED for Gabby. Flowing happy tears!! #TeamUSA” and “Women’s Eight… So Powerful!!We salute you #TeamUSA!!!”

Beyonce wrote a message to Gabby on her website, saying, “A huge congratulations to 16 year old Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas – WOW – what a thrill to watch you take this Gold! I can tell you’ve been working hard for so long – enjoy this moment, its yours. Thank you for inspiring all of us!”

Justin Bieber tweeted to the entire team, “CONGRATS to @McKaylaMaroney @jordynmarie2013 @kyla_ross96 @Aly_Raisman @gabrielledoug on your GOLD MEDAL. #BeliebersWinGOLD #Proud.”

Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder is also a fan of the U.S. girls, tweeting, “We’d like to congratulate you & the U.S. Women’s team on your gold medal! Go Team USA! Love, Ian S Im watching you right now on the TV:) 15.5!!” though it’s unclear who his tweet was directed to, specifically.

It turns out that the cast of Pretty Little Liars are also fans of the U.S. women gymnasts, with starsLucy Hale and Ashley Benson sending out tweets. Lucy said, “I’m so happy I could combust because of the US women’s gymnastics team. [Showing them] how its done,” while Ashley said, “Watching @aly_raisman she’s adorable” to gymnast Aly Raisman. And, as luck would have it, Aly and the rest of the U.S. girls are fans of PLL, tweeting back, “Ahhh thank you!!! I love pretty little liars :) we’ve been watching it here!”

Taylow Swift and Lady Gaga are also fans. Taylor wrote, “CONGRATS @Aly_Raisman and all of the fab five on your incredible win!!!” Lady Gaga tweeted, “Woohoo! Gold for the ladies! just want to squeeze them! So much talent and beauty. Did u seem all holding hands? There’s no “I” in team.”

The gymnasts weren’t the only ones who got some celeb loving, though. Michael Phelps got a special tweet from President Obama, of all people! “Congrats to Michael Phelps for breaking the all-time Olympic medal record. You’ve made your country proud. -bo,” the Commander in Chief tweeted. And Missy Franklin earned a tweet from Justin Bieber. “Heard @FranklinMissy is a fan of mine. now im a fan of hers too. CONGRATS on winning GOLD! #muchlove,” he said. So sweet!
